There have always been natural wildfires, otherwise there would be no trees whose seeds are only germinated by the heat of the fire. But I assume that most fires today are caused by people. Probably over 90%.

To conclude, directed-energy weapons and lasers do exist and are in use for some time. Lasers are also in use for multiple applications. For example, lasers are used in laser printers. hence the name laser printer

Lasers are already in use in military operation for decades. The first time that lasers accompanied US military forces into combat was in the Vietnam War, where they designated targets for laser-guided bombs. Since then, such devices have been used to determine distance to a target, to signal and communicate, and to disrupt optical devices of hostile forces.

Now, we have established that lasers are indeed used in military. We established that directed-energy weapons do exist. Also, we have established that directed-energy weapon is basically pointed microwave without Faraday cage. A Faraday cage or Faraday shield is an enclosure used to block electromagnetic fields. A Faraday shield may be formed by a continuous covering of conductive material, or in the case of a Faraday cage, by a mesh of such materials.

Now, I will explain to you what is a problem. Energy consumption. 100 kw is 1000 light bulbs. And the small directed-energy weapon that is on video uses that much power while it is operating. It is not much, but you need generator for that. And lasers (especially if they are deployed in space) need much more power to burn something on the ground. Because the laser beam has to go through atmosphere. Atmospheric effects have a significant impact on the performance of airborne and space laser systems. To cut things short, it needs a lot of power. There is no way (to my knowledge) to generate that amount of power in space right now. Also, planes are impractical to carry on board equipment to power up lasers enough to burn something. To conclude, there are indeed lasers and directed-energy weapons. But at the moment (to my knowledge) there is no reliable power source. Also, it is more practical to pay somebody to light a few fires than to use lasers or directed-energy weapons.
