An international study of a health-conscious "control group" of over 300,000 people who chose not to vaccinate against COVID-19 shows that the participants place minimal burden on healthcare systems as they rely heavily on natural immunity, self-sufficiency and use natural supplements to prevent or even treat COVID-19.

Yet this group faces unfounded discrimination, job losses and mental health issues,
compounded by their marginalization from mainstream society!

The survey of "control group" participants includes a subset of the more than 305,000 participants from more than 175 countries who joined the citizen-led project and chose not to receive COVID-19 vaccines. The results, just uploaded to the ResearchGate preprint server, show that during the five-month survey period (September 2021 through February 2022 inclusive), participants rarely had serious COVID-19 illnesses, were rarely hospitalized, and used natural health products both for prevention and widely used to treat mild to moderate COVID-19.

The data from these first five months of control group collection were analyzed by an independent, international team led by Dr. Robert Verkerk, a multidisciplinary scientist and founder, executive director and scientific director of the non-profit Alliance for Natural Health International, analyzed and interpret. Co-authors included three practicing clinicians, Dr. Naseeba Kathrada from South Africa, Christof Plothe from Germany and Dr. Katarina Lindley from USA. The authors came together to evaluate the survey data through their collaboration over the past few months with the World Council for Health, a non-profit, global coalition of health-focused organizations and civil society groups.

The survey results were based on a subcohort of approximately 18,500 control group participants who completed monthly questionnaires for the first five months of the survey. In addition to the extensive data collected, the survey also captured the reasons why participants avoid vaccines, with distrust of governments and pharmaceutical companies and concerns about side effects of undertested vaccines topping the list.

Participants reported significant mental health problems, perhaps compounded by stigma and discrimination against those who avoided COVID-19 vaccines. It also found that women, despite not being vaccinated against COVID-19, suffered from menstrual and bleeding abnormalities that may have been linked to virus exposure, shedding, exposure to spike proteins, or pandemic-related behavioral changes. Those who never wore a mask had the lowest rates of COVID-19.

Because the participants were self-selected and self-reported, the survey results must be interpreted with caution when compared to national statistics or studies based on randomly selected populations.

UK-based Projekt Control Group was formed in mid-2021 as a community-led cooperative aiming to assess the long-term health outcomes of COVID-19 vaccine-exempt individuals and connect its members to in-country support networks and online community groups.
