I had a superior 40 years ago who came from East Prussia. He told me some of his experiences. He first came to Russian captivity as an 18-year-old, but they probably let him go out of pity after some time.

He was then captured by US soldiers and taken to the Rheinwiesencamps. My uncle also came to such a camp as a 15-year-old. So I have eyewitness accounts from both sides.
