Hawaii is just a military base and a stepstone towards Asia. If Hawaii were somewhere else than so useful in the middle of the Pacific, it would certainly not have become the 50th state of the USA.

Puerto Rico is still just a territory. I have forgotten, what territory it was, but somewhere the Indians tried to create a state to be protected and sent this decision to Washington. They had fulfilled all conditions, set to create a state, but they were just ignored. Only white people were allowed to create a state.
Hawaii was a stepstone to the Philippines, occupied in 1899. After Japan had refused to get occupied, Hawaii and the Philippines were necessary. It was a race to participate in the Chinese market. This was just a continuation of the so-called Manila galleone, a Spanish ship, that brought silver from Peru to Manila on the Philippines. In Manila they met with Chinese merchants and bought Chinese products (mostly porcellain) and sailed along Japan, the Aleute islands and California back to Acapulco. From there the cargo was brought to the Spanish fleet waiting somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. Drake was the first to take such a ship in the Pacific. Cook discovered the usefulness of Hawaii. Then UK supported revolutions in the Bourbon provinces in America and the Bourbon empire was destroyed. US occupied California, tried to take over the trade routes, Parry in Japan and Rooseveldt in Cuba.
Now we have an opposite race: what Pacific island is recognizing China, what island is recognizing Taiwan. In this context an uprising in Hawaii could be devastating for US.

Jewish Agency denies report that Russia ordered it to cease operations there

(JTA) — The Jewish Agency for Israel is denying an Israeli news report that Russia had ordered it to stop operating there. But Russian authorities have sent the organization a letter that may require changes to its work facilitating immigration to Israel.

The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday that Russian officials last week informed Jewish Agency staff in Russia that they are to cease operations. Such a decision would strike a blow for the Russian Jews and their family members who are seeking to move to Israel amid their own country’s war on Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions.

The report was not accurate, a Jewish Agency official told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The official, who declined to be named because of an organizational media policy, said the Jewish Agency is not aware of any order by Russian authorities to cease operations in Russia.

The work of the Jewish Agency “is continuing as usual,” the official said.

But Russian authorities did give the Jewish Agency a letter that makes “certain inquiries,” the official said, declining to offer details to share the letter with JTA. According to a Times of Israel report, Russia’s unspecified demands would make it harder for the Jewish Agency to continue its work.
