So it seems Assange has not been arrested for breach of bail conditions related to the Swedish rape accusation. His arrest is solely because of Trump administration's extradition request.



Scotland Yard has confirmed that Assange was arrested on behalf of the US after receiving a request for his extradition.

In a statement it said:

Julian Assange, 47, (03.07.71) has today, Thursday 11 April, been further arrested on behalf of the United States authorities, at 10:53hrs after his arrival at a central London police station. This is an extradition warrant under Section 73 of the Extradition Act. He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court as soon as possible.


Assange due to appear in court in about an hour or so.

Also it's been stated that New York Times published exact same identical infos, but Trump admin argues that under US freedom of speech law they can't be prosecuted. But the they also argue that US freedom of speech isn't extended for those who aren't US citizens, so Assange is free to be prosecuted on this basis unlike the US based New York Times publishers.

Was my though too. But in some earlyer cases I wondered what was the distraction from what.

This may also be a precedent for how to treat other people. They want to seed insecurity and fear to get criminalised when telling the truth.
