Emmanuel Macron, the ardently Europhile president of France, now poses a greater threat to the future of the European Union than Brexit.
His call for a “European renaissance” of deeper integration is a declaration of war on the EU’s arriviste nations and a call for the creation of an elite group of richer, Western, eurozone countries that would rule Brussels and be dominated in turn by Paris and Berlin.
Those battle lines have been enthusiastically embraced by the likes of Hungarian PM Viktor Orban, in the middle of a sustained and controversial poster campaign of Brussels bashing, and Italy’s Matteo Salvini.

Next week the #US military budget for next year will become known and rumours suggest it could be in the order of 750 billion US dollars, compared to 716 billion US dollars allocated for 2019. Contrary to popular belief, #Russia has progressively reduced #military spending.
They are stealing US tax money in broad day light, pretend that they use them to fight threats they themselves engineered...

An Iraqi draft bill on ejecting #US forces from #Iraq has been completed. Among its major components is the shut down of Ain al-Asad military base in west Anbar. The bill will be tabled in Parliament after its rather length break will be over next Saturday.
