Russian military journalist Semyon Pegov said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked an airfield near Minsk, Belarus with drones.

No official statement from Belarus or Russia regarding this incident.

Our sources report that local residents heard sounds of 2 explosions at 08:00-09:30 (Minsk time) in the area of Machulishchy airfield, Minsk region.
There’re also reports that an explosion was heard at night. The location and the cause of explosions are unknown.

Today, Belarusian opposition telegram channels reported an explosion at a military airfield in Machulishchi, from where Russian aircraft regularly take off.

They admitted that an explosive device was dropped on a Russian AWACS A-50 range radar detection aircraft. It is reported that the board could have been damaged.

There is also information that after the explosion, a transport "Il" arrived from Russia, and the approaches to the airfield were blocked by security forces.

Russian telegram channels then also reported explosions near Minsk (where the airfield is located), hinting that the situation is similar to the strike on the airbase in Saratov.

Official sources did not comment on this information.

To my shame, I didn't know exactly where Minsk was located within Belarus. But looking at this map, either the attackers were inside the country or the drones used weren't just little quadcopters.
It must be the former, as surely Russia has beefed up Belarus' air defences.

we will see. Considering Transnistria is slowly preparing for active military operations, it seems that things are escalating. it is a question of point of no return...when it will happen or if it has already occurred. does NATO have an exit strategy, and what price is too high for NATO to force them to disengage. this question is important to find out...it could be that we have already passed that point. in that case...it will escalate. only question is how fast it will escalate.

Transnistria will activate Moldova and Romania, Belarus will activate Poland... and then it is too far gone to stop it. Maybe it has already gone too far. I can see signals from US of A side that they want some kind of negotiations, but i do not think they are offering enough concessions for russia to take the deal. also, there is no trust in any deal made with "west"

if china is in officially...that is it. Then everything goes active. it is too big of an opportunity to not try and resolve unresolved issues. iran, iraq, syria (to name just a few)...it is going to burn. and NATO does not have enough personnel. not nearly enough personnel to cover all the hot spots at the same time and to handle ukraine. i am not talking just about boots on the ground..i am talking logistics....and everybody knows that.

NATO is overextended, and it will have to fall back to positions that are more manageable for defense. we are talking fleeing...not organized retreat
