The situation is even more complex. KMT is not a Taiwan party, it is the mother of all parties in China and is recognized for this even by the CCP. Only the leadership of the KMT fled to the island of Taiwan, that is part of Fujian province. KMT even has a small section represented in the parliament in Beijing (China is not a one-party-state). There are permanent negotiations between the CCP and the KMT. The CCP does not want to attack the island and conquer it. This would be easy, but would estrange the Chinese in Taiwan from the mainland Chinese. So the CCP was just waiting and China has time. But Pelosi's flight has now changed everything. I have no idea, what the PLA is planning now, but they are forced to act now. And Pelosi is in a trap.
