Seems to corroborate with the first reports which stated that the HMS Montrose was only 10 minutes away from the action, but when the humiliation became too big to handle the Brits said: 'Sadly, the Montrose was more than 60 minutes from the scene.'

Anyway, it seems in the right-wing UK media they're keen to push a narrative about how depleted the armed forces are at the moment after years of austerity. And they say UK being unable to stop Iran from seizing the tanker demonstrates that. Maybe there will be an emergency budget to dramatically increase Ministry of Defense's funding soon after Boris becomes PM.
Anyway, it seems in the right-wing UK media they're keen to push a narrative about how depleted the armed forces are at the moment after years of austerity. Let's put aside that Iran was not behind single one terror attack in Europe as I can remember. All those Manchester, Madrid, Londond etc. attacks were linked to Saudis and NATO/western sponsored Salafi/Wahhabi nutjobs.
How different it would be if Iran did what they say now from the western support of MEK terrorists? From support of ISIS an Qaeda groups that are, now, cleraly aimed against Iran and its people?
That's just question, I don't believe single damned word from "intelligence agencies". But I can very well imagine GCHQ, MI6 and other criminals, who were behind the illegal invasion of Iraq, blowing up Brittons, as well as fellow Europeans, under the false flag of Iran.
