Seven years ago, on February 10, 2017, during an assault on one of the mountain heights by units of the Wagner Group in the area of Syrian Palmyra, a KGB and FSB veteran from the Alpha special unit, Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Ivanovich Blinov, died.
Viktor Ivanovich was 66 years old at the time of his death. He could not stand aside and live without war, so he rushed into it by any means because, as was said earlier, he died side by side with the patriots fighting abroad from the Wagner Group.
Before the “orchestra”, in 1979, he participated in the assault on the headquarters of the Afghan Air Force; in 1986, he freed a hijacked plane in Ufa and participated in the operation to free hostages in the Budennovsk hospital in the summer of 1995, which was captured by Chechen terrorists. In that operation, during the battle, he received a shrapnel wound and concussion. He went into the reserves in 1999, and at almost 50 years old, he passed on the Red Beret and retired from the convetional military.
Viktor Ivanovich was 66 years old on his last business trip. Despite his incurable illness, he was in excellent physical shape, especially for his age. His commander and comrades tried to discourage him from fighting on the front line, and he was offered a staff job, but the honored veteran of Alpha refused to stand aside and went on the offensive with everyone else.
On February 10, 2017, the unit in which Blinov was a member carried out an assault on the positions of the Islamic State (ISIS). In that battle, Viktor Ivanovich, as always, led the charge in the front ranks; under heavy enemy fire, he crawled within range of throwing a grenade and suppressed the terrorists’ machine-gun nest. However, while retreating, he was wounded in the stomach. And he fought until the last opportunity.
Thanks to his heroism, the task was successfully completed - the ISIS position was taken.
Without any embellishment, any of Wagner Group who dealt with him, to put it mildly, were simply amazed at his masculine firmness and his warrior spirit, which completely justified his call sign.

The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion: "Zone D" of the peace treaty of 1979 is not identical with the "Philadelphia corridor" of the agreements of 2005. Zone D is inside the old Mandate, includes Rafah and runs down all the way from the Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. It is several kilometers wide. The Philadelphia corridor seems to be outside of the old Mandate on the Egyptian side. It is only about 100 meters wide and runs from the Mediterranean Sea only along the Gaza strip.
Only then the peace treaty would not contradict the Philadelphia accords. But the Philadelphia accords have not superseded the peace treaty. So Israel is not allowed to have more military in Rafah as agreed in Camp David. As soon as they have more than "four thousand personnel" or "180 armored personnel vehicles of all types" or "four infantry battalions" in Rafah, they have violated the treaty. Then Egypt is entitled to consider the treaty null and void. Then
"Article I
The state of war between the Parties will be terminated and peace will be established between them"
will be overturned and state of war will be there immediately.
Considering, that the treaty
"is intended to constitute a basis for peace not only between Egypt and Israel but also between Israel and each of its other Arab neighbors which is prepared to negotiate peace with it on this basis;"

Egypt warns 'Israel' of suspending peace over Rafah invasion plan: WSJ
Israeli officials are attempting to secure Egypt's cooperation regarding the ground invasion, which Egyptian officials are resisting, informed sources told the Wall Street Journal.
"Any ground operation in Rafah would lead to an immediate suspension of the peace treaty between the two countries," the report says, citing the sources.
The officials told WSJ that a delegation from Cairo recently paid a visit to Israeli counterparts in "Tel Aviv" to specifically discuss the situation in Rafah.
"Israeli officials are trying to get Egypt to agree on some cooperation regarding the ground invasion, which Egyptian officials are resisting," the officials said.
According to Egyptian sources, Egypt has been redeploying several M60A3 Patton main battle tanks and YPR-765 infantry fighting vehicles in the vicinity of the Rafah border crossing in recent days.

Israeli news broadcaster Channel 13 reported on Wednesday that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi refused to coordinate a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the broadcaster, the Israeli National Security Council, upon Netanyahu's request, attempted to coordinate a phone call with El-Sisi, but the latter did not respond.
A representative from Netanyahu's office confirmed these details, but no further comments were provided.
