Ukraine have landed in the low-lying areas in eastern Kherson region and have taken the village of Dachny.
Resupplying these forces will be a logistical challenge
Well it looks like the Ukrainians didn’t establish any permanent bridgeheads. Not surprised.

China has competitors to US Big Tech corporations, so Microsoft
is cynically claiming Chinese AI threatens "democracy" in order to lobby for
more aggressive US actions to kneecap and weaken China's tech sector.

One of the best tools to control people is FEAR. If you scare people enough, they will do anything.
This is the modus operandi behind climate change, pandemics, War on Terror, NATO, and now Taiwan’s technology transfer of high-end semiconductor manufacturing.
Here was the problem: US firms like Intel couldn’t go beyond the 7nm chips.
Meanwhile, Taiwan’s TSMC has whopping 92% of global market share of the cutting edge chips (5nm and smaller).
So, how to steal that technology… without appearing to be stealing? After all, “image” is vitally important in geopolitics.
In the 1980s, the US bullied Japan into handing over the semiconductor technology by fabricating some hysteria
about Japanese selling submarine engines to the USSR.
But now the strategy needed to be different. Solution: Manufacture war in Taiwan Straits.
Scare the hell out of Taiwanese, and they will gladly handover their crown jewel tech on a plate.
Plus, the US can even spin this as “saving” technology from the communists in mainland China.
And US politicians and media can tout America as the innovation leader!
As a bonus, the US gets to sell more weapons to Japan and the Philippines; and establish new military bases in Asia.
Win-win all around for the Empire of Chaos.

@loffredojeremy (April 22, 2023)
After RFK Jr.’s campaign speech (which forced Reuters to broadcast scathing criticisms
of the US war machine & Ukraine proxy war)— NYT, CNN, MSNBC, Rolling Stone, and AP
all reported that in Jan 2022 RFK compared the COVID response to the holocaust.
If they ever included direct or even indirect quotes — their readers would see
that their claim is entirely false. RFK was pointing out the obvious fact that the militarized surveillance state is growing.

The rise and fall of the "Russian Hawaii": the failure to secure the archipelago in the Pacific is an example of how tsarist Russia could not gain a foothold in the New World. Our author traces a largely unknown but curious episode in the history of the 19th century.

Denying visas to Russian journalists who were supposed to accompany Lavrov to the UN
is an outrageous and unacceptable reception.
- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov
The United States should have no doubt that American journalists will experience maximum discomfort
after Washington's refusal to issue US visas to Russian journalists to work at UN events in NY.

This Siberian granddad runs barefoot even in the cold. 80-year-old retiree Vladimir Chudinov has completed 100 marathons without shoes. He even got into the Russian book of sports records.
He didn't become a barefoot athlete out of a desire to seem unique. Everything is much more prosaic. At the beginning of his marathon career, he simply had no shoes to wear during training. Check out our post to learn about the original solution.
Valery Malkov knows what it means to be without warm shoes in the cold. But he didn't decide to run of his own free will. Ten years ago, he fell out of a train and ended up in the winter taiga. What did he have to go through? Find out in the documentary **Surviving the Cold** (2013).
