To make matters worse, China is by far the largest economy in the world and the largest exporter in terms of purchasing power parity (PPP). And then there is Russia, an economy that is equal to or even larger than the German one due to PPP – with the added advantage of being the largest energy exporter in the world and not having been forced to deindustrialize.
