Full Statement of the Russian Defense Ministry

On March 15, at the initiative of the American side, telephone talks were held between the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu and the Minister of Defense of the United States of America Lloyd Austin

The main attention was paid to the exchange of views on the causes and consequences of the incident with the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle of the United States on March 14 in the Black Sea.

Sergei Shoigu pointed out that the cause of the incident was the actions of the United States for non-compliance with the flight restriction zone declared by the Russian Federation, established in connection with a special military operation, as well as increased intelligence activities against the interests of the Russian Federation.

It was noted that the flights of American strategic unmanned aerial vehicles off the coast of Crimea have a provocative nature, which creates prerequisites for an escalation of the situation in the Black Sea zone.

The Russian Federation is not interested in such a development of events, but it will continue to respond proportionately to all provocations. At the same time, the major nuclear powers should act as responsibly as possible, including maintaining military communication channels to discuss any crisis situations.

Israel's major banks were not caught off guard by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and managed to transfer $1 billion out of the bank to accounts in Israel shortly before it was seized by federal authorities, the Times of Israel reported.

"Israel’s two largest banks, Bank Leumi and Bank Hapoalim, set up a situation room that has been operating around the clock to help firms transfer their money from SVB – before it was seized – to accounts in Israel," per the publication. 

The Ha'aretz newspaper also reported that while many companies in the US were unable to withdraw funds before the bank’s failure, "a good many Israeli companies had been able to get their money out in time, but that it was clearly not the case for everyone."

"The companies whose deposits are now locked will seek to conceal this, concerned that any rumors might drive away customers, suppliers and employees," Ha'aretz added.
