The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition. Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).
No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.
That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

Both articles show a similarity to the demonstration in Leipzig last year. The police surrendered and the demonstrators had the whole ring-road and the city centre at the end of the day. One result is already, that the Austrian parliament will have a voting about the Chancellor Kurz (Mißtrauensvotum). And more demonstrations are planned.

The United States has relied on hard power and economic sanctions.
Both have had the unintended consequence of inviting ever deeper Iranian and Turkish inroads into the region.
soft power
The United States needs to recognize that Iran does not hold its neighbors in a coercive vise.
non-Sunni Arab populations (secular nationalist, Shiite, Christian, heterodox, Kurdish) in such countries see Iran as the only counterweight to Sunni fundamentalists, while The United States, by contrast, has crushed those populations with sanctions and armed Sunni militants.
Both Iran and Turkey have figured out how to project regional influence through a combination of hard and soft power.
'Bread not Bombs' (mobilizing Arab soft power)
The United States is much better at promoting capitalism and free trade than it is at regime change.
By using WEALTH effectively, Gulf Arab investment in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen would easily crowd out Iran.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE have access to deep credit markets, immense sovereign wealth funds, and large hard-currency reserves.
►Iraq would welcome investment in its agribusiness, industrial, and hydrocarbon sectors.
►Syria has an almost infinite need for reconstruction which Iran cannot begin to address.
►Iran cannot shore up the collapsing Lebanese banking sector.
►Iran can provide Yemen Houthis with missiles but cannot meaningfully improve life for Yemen.
UAE and Saudi Arabia can constructively compete with Iran for influence. Help to stabilize a region whose continued volatility is in no one’s strategic interest.
The moment is ripe
Such an approach would require the United States, Israel, and U.S. allies in the Gulf to let go of a punitive and coercive strategy that has clearly failed.
