On 18 February 2014, during the protests on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square), a video appeared
on the network in which Serhiy Pashynskyi takes sniper weapons out from the square
- there was a hunting Norinco CQ-A carbine, clone of M4A1 variant of M4 carbine.
The link to the video was posted on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to former officers of the Georgian army, snipers Koba Nergadze and Alexander Revazishvili, 19 February 2014,
Serhiy Pashynskyi and Volodymyr Parasyuk brought bags with weapons to the Hotel "Ukraine".
Pashynskyi ordered a group of snipers to shoot at protesters on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti and the soldiers of the Berkut.
Pashynskyi also took part in the shooting, using a Kalashnikov 7.62 mm rifle. After a short turn, the snipers had to change their position.
