I don't think, Hitler was "influenced" by Americans. I think, American companies were willing to support him, because they had a similar mindset and they saw profit. We had many American-German joint-ventures. American companies understood, that Germany was unable to pay the reparations requested by the Versailles treaty and this had caused the breakdown of the economy at the end of the 1920s. That's why they supported German companies. That's why German economy recovered during the 1930s, while the American economy was still down.

This "Manifest Destiny" has a different origin. It goes back to Elizabeth I Tudor and Cromwell. It is connected to Calvinism, Puritanism and Judaism. In Germany only the Prussians had similar ideas. But the Catholic Bavarians and Austrians did not buy this.
