Researchers at NHS England are being denied access to datasets on the Palantir platform
which supports the COVID-19 data store, with no reason given, despite requests for greater transparency on the system.

The documents, and views of NHS England staff, raise the possibility that NHS England management is restricting access to data
without giving proper justification. Others have speculated that the American software firm itself,
with its consultants still working on the system, is restricting access to the data.

In December 2020, the NHS signed a £23m two-year contract with Palantir without scrutiny,
even though the AI firm’s engagement with the UK health service was originally supposed to be
a temporary emergency measure to help address the COVID-19 pandemic.

In February this year, campaigners filed for a judicial review of the UK government’s decision to award the new contract to Palantir,
while separate investigations showed the American software business had been in

The (U.S.) Army has directed commands to prepare to administer mandatory COVID-19 vaccines as early as Sept. 1,
pending full Food and Drug Administration licensure, Army Times has learned.

The directive came from an execute order sent to the force by Department of the Army Headquarters.
Army Times obtained a portion of a recent update to HQDA EXORD 225-21, COVID-19 Steady State Operations.

(July 14, 2021) Indiana University students seek preliminary injunction to stop vaccine mandate
Happening today, eight Indiana University students are suing after the IU Board of Trustees decided to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for students, faculty and staff.
That mandate was announced back on May 21st. There were nearly three hours of arguments in court on Tuesday and here is a brief breakdown.
Ahead of the lawsuit, the attorney for the eight IU students is seeking a preliminary injunction to halt the vaccine mandate before the lawsuit proceedings begin.
Those students object to having a vaccine required to go to school at Indiana University. IU’s attorney’s say that students still have a choice and could choose to just go to a different school.

Attorney James Bopp says there are still a lot of unknowns about the vaccine in terms of side effects as those vaccines do not have full FDA approval, just emergency use authorization.
He adds that this mandate violates the students’ 14th Amendment rights. (law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxiv)
Bopp also says that Indiana University is the only state university in Indiana to mandate the vaccine.
Bopp moved on to argue that reports from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, that allows people to report negative side effects from the vaccine

However, Judge Leichty clarified that those reports are far from scientific, are not peer-reviewed, and are merely anecdotal.
When taking aim at IU’s Attorney’s, the judge questioned the vaccine mandate from Indiana University and added that there are no scientific studies
to rule out all of the risks and concerns people have with these COVID-19 vaccines.

The University’s attorneys fell back on a Supreme Court ruling from 1905 (the case began in 1904) Jacobson V. Massachusetts
that sets caselaw allowing compulsory or required vaccinations.

IU’s legal team says this US District Court in Northern Indiana has no authority to reject that ruling.

I asked the IU students’ attorney about that, he thinks that ruling could be overturned.

(June 18, 2021) Florida wins first blow in cruise fight with CDC
A federal court has temporarily dislodged the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s sailing restrictions for cruise lines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday in Tampa on Friday granted a preliminary injunction that kicks in July 18 against the CDC and its sailing order.
Beginning then, the CDC’s conditional sailing order will remain, but on the same “non-binding” level
that applies to other travel industries, like airlines and hotels.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, backed by DeSantis, filed the lawsuit in April challenging restrictions imposed by the CDC
that idled the industry after outbreaks aboard ships early in the pandemic in 2020.

(July 14, 2021) Norwegian cruises sues Florida over virus vaccination law
Norwegian Cruise Line is challenging a new Florida law that prevents cruise companies from requiring passengers to show proof of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Miami federal court, contends that the law jeopardizes safe operation of cruise ships by increasing risk of contracting the virus.
Norwegian intends to restart cruises from Florida ports Aug. 15 with vaccinations required for all passengers.

Norwegian wants a judge to lift the ban by Aug. 6. The law imposes a fine of $5,000 each time a cruise line mandates that a passenger provide vaccination proof.
Norwegian claims it violates federal law and several constitutional rights.

The company, officially known as Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings or NCLH,

(July 19, 2021) Federal judge will not block Indiana University's vaccine mandate
Indiana University's vaccine requirement for students and employees will remain in place
after a federal judge declined to issue a preliminary injunction against the policy.

Judge Damon Leichty of the Northern District of Indiana on Sunday denied the injunction request,
following a lawsuit from eight students who argued the policy violated their constitutional rights and state law.

While the students may be deprived of attending the university if they refuse vaccination
and do not qualify for an exemption, Leichty noted that they have options.

"Taking the vaccine, applying for a religious exemption, applying for a medical exemption,
applying for a medical deferral, taking a semester off, or attending another university or online," Leichty wrote.

(August 9, 2021) A Judge OKs Cruise Lines' COVID Vaccination Requirement For Passengers In Florida
Norwegian Cruise Line can require that passengers show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination before boarding any of its ships in Florida, a federal judge has ruled.
The decision by U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams in Miami to grant Norwegian's request for a preliminary injunction
comes despite a state law passed in May that fines businesses that require proof of such vaccinations.

In her decision, Williams said Norwegian would likely succeed in a court trial
with its argument that Florida's so-called vaccine passport ban risks public health
and infringes on the cruise line's First Amendment rights.

Norwegian said it implements a 100% vaccination level rule for guests and crew members in each port it sails out of around the world.
