Lol Russia may not have fought in Normandy but no way allies win WW2 without Russia as they sacrificed 20 million people against Germany and 75% of German casualties were against Russia same as Napoleon if he had not invaded Russia no way allies beat him.

An Extinction Rebellion activist had to be taken off a flight at London City Airport, as part of ongoing protests.

BBC Newsnight's Nicholas Watt said his flight was about to take off when a protester refused to resume his seat.

Police arrested several people blocking the airport entrance as others glued themselves to the floor and one man climbed on top of a plane.

It is the fourth day of the Extinction Rebellion climate change protests, which are taking place across central London and other major cities worldwide.

By Thursday morning, police had arrested almost 850 people in total in connection with the protests, the Met Police said.

Twenty-nine people have been charged with various offences, police said, including seven who are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later.

Trump asked Tillerson to interfere in DOJ case against Giuliani client: report

President Trump pressured then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to help convince the Department of Justice (DOJ) to drop a criminal investigation against an Iranian-Turkish gold trader who was also a client of Trump's current personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, Bloomberg reports.

Tillerson refused Trump's 2017 request, saying it would be illegal to interfere with an ongoing investigation. He repeated his stance to then-chief of staff John Kelly in a hallway conversation in the White House.

At the time, Reza Zarrab, the trader in question, was being prosecuted by a New York federal court on charges of evading U.S. sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program, according to Bloomberg. As a result, Zarrab hired Giuliani and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

Trump says Fox News 'doesn't deliver for US anymore' after poll shows rising impeachment support

President Trump said on Thursday that Fox News "doesn't deliver for US anymore" after the network's latest poll showed growing support for his impeachment and removal from office.

"From the day I announced I was running for President, I have NEVER had a good @FoxNews Poll," Trump tweeted. "Whoever their Pollster is, they suck. But @FoxNews is also much different than it used to be in the good old days."

A Fox poll released Wednesday found 51 percent of respondents supported Trump's impeachment and removal from office. Four percent of participants said the president should be impeached but not removed, and 40 percent were completely against impeachment.

Trump on Thursday also lashed out at prominent Fox News employees who have been critical of him and his interactions with the president of Ukraine, which is at the heart of an impeachment inquiry by House Democrats.

"@FoxNews doesn’t deliver for US anymore," Trump tweeted. "It is so different than it used to be. Oh well, I’m President!"

Good thing it wasn't twenty as first reported. Erdogan would get mad, it will be interesting to watch what kind of campaign will the Turks perform. So far it looks "civilised" but ground troops haven't really started yet.

Russian, Turkish military contact on Ankara’s operation in Syria — Lavrov
https://tass.com/politics/1082448

"We want this situation to calm down as soon as possible, first of all based on the principle of respect for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,"

"We will be pressing for the beginning of a dialogue between Turkey and Syria. There are reasons to believe that this will meet the interests of both countries. Also, we will be promoting contacts between Damascus and Kurdish organizations that renounce extremism and terrorist methods of activity,"

"We’ve heard Syrian officials and Kurdish organizations’ representatives say they are interested in Russia using its good relations with all parties to this process for assistance in establishing such a dialogue. We’ll see how to go about this business,"

Adana agreement of 1998

"We have been constantly highlighting from the very start of the crisis in Syria that we understand the rightful concerns of the Republic of Turkey as to the safety of its borders," Lavrov said. "At the same time, we were emphasizing in every way the need to settle these concerns within the framework of the agreements existing between Damascus and Ankara, the so-called Adana agreement of 1998," he went on to say.

"Unfortunately, an efficient implementation of that agreement, that envisaged joint efforts to thwart acts of terror on the border between Turkey and Syria, was complicated by the activity of the Americans and the coalition on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River,"

"We have been for years warning about an extreme danger of the experiment that the Americans were conducting there, trying to set the Kurds and Arab tribes against each other in every possible way. We were warning against playing the Kurdish card, as this can come to no good, of which we were also warned by our colleagues from other countries in the region having large Kurdish communities,"
